And back I go...

After returning from the DR in April, I was sitting at work thinking: "Why am I working? Wouldn't I much rather be sitting in the mountains surrounding Jarabacoa, sipping coffee with Jess?" So, I decided to quit work early and visit Jess one more time before flying off to Africa. On my first trip to the DR, Jess and I did a fair amount of traveling. We went to Puerto Plata, Santiago, Imbert... This time we stayed a bit closer to home, and only came down into Jarabacoa one day. This was due to two things: one, we simply wanted to hang out and enjoy each others company and the company of the people living near here, and two, due to elections, PC put the volunteers on Standfast and we weren't allowed to travel outside of Jess' site.
So, what do we do being stuck in one place? We go swimming, hike to a waterfall, play pool, learn to cook yuca, teach some friends Zilch and learn some games and tricks ourselves, read, play with kids and listen to thunder. In other words, we simply enjoy being. For more on my trip check out Jess' blog.
